Role Overview

The successful candidate will join a dedicated IT department, playing a crucial role in supporting and developing a sophisticated IT infrastructure that includes hybrid local/cloud Microsoft Windows AD networks, Office 365, Azure services, and a state-of-the-art networking setup. This role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality technical support and the smooth operation of all IT-related activities within a dynamic school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the operation and development of the IT infrastructure, including a move to 10Gbit internal networking.
• Provide exceptional 1st and 2nd line support, managing the IT helpdesk queue efficiently to meet SLAs.
• Participate in the maintenance and upgrade of IT systems, utilising a range of technologies including Cisco Meraki, Hyper-V failover clusters, and more.
• Implement and manage IT projects, ensuring effective communication and documentation.
• Work with a diverse range of devices and systems, including Windows Server 2019/2022, Dell PowerEdge servers, desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, iPads, and interactive displays across the institution.

Technical Environment:

• Hybrid local/cloud Microsoft Windows AD network with Office 365 and Azure services.
• Cisco Meraki switching and wireless, with advanced web filtering and safeguarding monitoring solutions.
• Comprehensive virtualisation environment running on Windows Server 2019/2022 with Hyper-V.
• Management of devices via InTune, Google Workspace Admin, and Apple School Manager.
• Experience with MIS (iSams), integrated with a variety of services, and helpdesk ticketing via Enchant.

Desired Experience:

• Proven expertise in managing and supporting complex IT environments, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of networking, virtualisation, cloud services, and IT security principles.
• Familiarity with device management platforms and a hands-on approach to hardware and software issues.
