This role is essential in supporting a trust educational ICT system and requires a dynamic individual capable of managing a wide range of ICT system issues. The salary for this role is £38,000! 

Role Overview

The Trust Network Manager will be instrumental in supporting, diagnosing, and resolving day-to-day ICT System issues, including server management, troubleshooting devices/printers, projectors/whiteboards, and managing user accounts. Working closely with the head of the service, this role involves overseeing technical escalations across all sites and managing the network with a focus on prioritising issues impacting teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the school IT infrastructure, including network patching, resolving cabling issues, updating edge switch configurations, and server maintenance.
  • Offer guidance on technical issues to all colleagues as needed.
  • Monitor school network and firewall logs for potential issues and cybersecurity threats.
  • Responsible for the cybersecurity of the school's infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network, system, and software issues.
  • Diagnose technical problems and communicate solutions effectively to staff and students.
  • Provide second and third-line IT support to pupils and staff, and first-line support when necessary.
  • Cover sites during staff absence due to sickness or holiday.
  • Manage escalated tickets from the service desk and on-site engineers.
  • Assist in network development alongside the Development Manager.
  • Line manage the existing technician.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Prior experience in managing educational ICT systems and dealing with technical issues.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical details to non-technical users.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to support services.
  • Experience in team management and collaboration with various stakeholders.
