Description
We're looking for a highly motivated Technical Consultant with experience being able to lead complex technical engagements. The successful candidate will join an IT supplier that specialises in helping education organisations adapt to the constantly changing technology landscape by providing valuable technology, offering personalised services, and providing reliable IT support. This is a remote role with some site visits when required!
The salary for this role is up to £55,000, including a car allowance!
Role Overview
As a Technical Consultant, you will be responsible for providing enterprise-level Cisco, Meraki, and Aruba network solution designs through a range of technical Pre-Sales activities, including customer meetings, proposal writing, responding to bid and tender submissions, and creating both high-level and low-level network design documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Translating enterprise customer needs into high and low-level solutions design.
- Identifying and bringing new networking technologies to market.
- Building a deep understanding of products, technologies, and services by liaising with relevant teams within the company.
- Continuously improving our solutions by providing feedback from the field.
- Preparing model RFPs and responding to customer RFPs.
- Conducting training and technical workshops for both customers and internal teams.
- Keeping abreast of competitor offerings and providing input to the sales team on product positioning and differentiation.
- Handling post-sales escalations and resolving issues by coordinating and working with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Assisting in developing Statements of Work and Bills of Materials.
- Designing and architecting IT infrastructure.
- Attending and leading customer business meetings, both with and without Business Development Managers.
- Recognizing, supporting, and assisting in the scope and pricing of Professional Services work.
- Overseeing project implementations and implementing agreed designs when necessary.
- Acting as a point of technical escalation and guidance for implementing Engineers.
- Leading design workshops and creating complex designs for Data Centers and Campus networks.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working in a similar position technical / networking consultant position.
- Experience working with data centres.
- Hold a full UK driving license.
- CCNP certification with a goal of obtaining CCIE certification.
- Strong understanding of campus networking (L2/L3), data centres, cloud computing, collaboration, and security technologies.
- Strong TCP/IP knowledge.
- Experienced working with routers, switches, firewalls, IPS, ACLs, QoS, VLANs, VPN, BGP, DHCP, WAN and LAN environments, and remote-access technologies.
