We are on the hunt for a Systems Manager to join a nationwide schools group in the Peterborough area. Depending on your experience, the salary can go up to £40,000! This is a flexible/hybrid role, Whilst there is a minimum of 2 days per week in the office required, 3 or more days per week may be required depending on your teams’ shift pattern and availability. 

Role Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT professional to take on a leadership role in managing the System Manager for an organisation with over 70,000 users across 90+ schools and Central Office. The successful candidate will have the chance to take ownership of the end-user devices, including the anti-virus/malware and overall security deployment and configurations to ensure data integrity, systems and resources. Additionally, the role involves managing the network infrastructure at the Peterborough and London Offices, making it an ideal opportunity for someone with extensive experience managing IT infrastructure.


  • Management and operation of our client's London and Peterborough offices, covering infrastructure and end-user devices.
  • Management of the central Microsoft Office365 tenancy, focusing on configuring Teams as a crucial part of the infrastructure.
  • Collaboration with the IT Manager to support the delivery of central services to Schools and Academies, primarily in the Azure environment.
  • Implementation of processes and procedures to enhance the quality and efficiency of the Service Desk and the service provided to colleagues within the Central Office and Schools.
  • Carrying out quality assurance checks, root cause analysis and customer satisfaction surveys.
  • Responsible for producing and updating key central IT policies (e.g. SLAs, BYOD), training and developing Service Desk Analysts.
  • Managing and balancing a budget and overseeing all incidents and problems reported to the Service Desk.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of administering Office 365.
  • Experience in managing devices through InTune.
  • Extensive experience and expertise in the IT Support sector, with a minimum of 5 years.
  • Ability to manage, motivate and train team members.
  • Familiarity with managing local networks and wireless.
  • Understanding and ability to interpret the use of the ITIL framework.
  • Strong skills in communication and problem-solving.
