This role will be providing onsite support to an educational customer, in Croydon, resolving support requests as they arise. A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required.

The role is based on supporting Microsoft environments and a range of third-party products in the education market. Knowledge of Microsoft products is essential and current Microsoft qualifications are required.

Salary:  Up to £35,000 + £bonus

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for technical support issues.
  • Provide technical support and answer support queries via the helpdesk.
  • Respond to customer requests and assist with hardware or software problems.
  • Provide excellent customer service for all support issues.
  • Mentor and guide more junior members of the team when required.
  • Liaise with 3rd party suppliers/solution providers to address customer tickets.
  • Ensure incidents are resolved in line with SLAs.
  • Complete relevant and skilled investigations before escalating to the 3rd line.
  • Joining the technical installation team when required to deploy new solutions.

Personal Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate will have experience in technical support in the education sector and have the same values as the rest of the organization, with a positive mindset, committed to outstanding delivery of service and pushing the boundaries of what is offered by adding value and understanding that the smallest detail can make the largest difference.

Skills / Attributes Required

  • At least two years experience in a technical support role.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems (servers & desktops).
  • Strong knowledge of key Windows Server Management tools (AD / GPO / DHCP / DNS).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Emails, AD Sync, Teams).
  • Working knowledge of virtualization products (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Working knowledge of network fundamentals (wired and wireless).
  • Working knowledge of firewalls and routers.
  • Working knowledge of onsite and cloud backups.
  • Working knowledge of deployment technologies (in tune, WDS, MDT).
  • Exposure to Google for Education (preferred).
  • Excellent telephone manners, face-to-face communication and written skills.
  • Good time management and ability to multitask.
  • Beneficial: Previous employment in the Educational Sector.
