Product Owner

We're looking for a highly motivated Product Owner with strong project management experience, with demonstrated skills in good decision-making, prioritisation, follow-up, and artifact creation to join an EdTech company that specialises in SaaS products. This is a hybrid role with a salary of £40,000 to £45,000 plus great benefits!

Role Overview

As the Product Owner, you'll collaborate closely with the Product Manager to define and deliver value that aligns with our client's vision. Your expertise in prioritising Team Backlogs will be essential in efficiently executing program priorities. Additionally, you'll maintain the integrity of features and components from both conceptual and technical standpoints for our talented Development team.

While receiving occasional guidance, you'll also demonstrate your proactive nature by initiating and leading complex tasks within your role. If you're passionate about product innovation and are driven by taking ownership of impactful projects, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with the Product Manager to drive and execute program-level projects and cross-functional initiatives in alignment with the overarching Product vision.
• Assist the Product Manager in analysing feature gaps, devising customer migration strategies, and facilitating cross-sell initiatives as part of portfolio-level efforts.
• Manage strategic partnerships with third-party service providers and payment processors, ensuring smooth business-level relationships.
• Evaluate the value of potential enhancements, construct compelling business cases, and prioritise stories, epics, and themes to ensure a focus on maximum value that aligns with the Product vision.
• Take charge of achieving strategic objectives by formulating and delivering program-level goals for one or more scrum teams, all in alignment with the overarching Product vision.
• Transform product concepts into actionable items by translating them into backlog epics, user stories, and detailed requirements.
• Develop comprehensive requirement documents, functional specifications, and mock-ups to vividly illustrate product concepts and ideas.
• Collaborate actively with peers within the Program team to continually refine the backlog, emphasising business value. Maintain a groomed backlog equivalent to at least 2 sprints for each scrum team.
• Play an integral role in identifying and addressing obstacles that hinder the successful completion of Sprint and Release goals, taking proactive steps to mitigate impediments.
• Demonstrate leadership through influence, advocating for the company's best interests in decision-making processes, while also staying attuned to customer needs, market trends, and technological advancements.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience working in a similar SaaS Product Ownership / Project Management position. 
• Experience and knowledge of the EdTech industry - highly desirable. 
• A./B.S. degree or related work experience
• Strong product management skills
• Experience working within scaled agile (SAFe) methodology.
• Must have a growth mindset and subscribe to a continuous learning philosophy.
