Are you an experienced Network Manager ready to take the helm in an educational environment? We are currently seeking a Network Manager to join a vibrant school in Stevenage. Offering up to £40,000, this role is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in managing school networks, keen to make a meaningful impact in the IT infrastructure of the educational sector.

Role Overview

In this role, you will be the primary on-site technical leader, responsible for maintaining smooth and reliable IT services within the school. Your expertise will be crucial in managing the school’s IT infrastructure, ensuring effective technical support and strategic network standardisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimise the school's IT infrastructure for efficiency and reliability.
  • Standardise network setups where feasible, including Veeam, SCCM, Aruba, and Password Policies.
  • Report on improvements and opportunities in collaboration with the Service Delivery Manager and Technical Account Manager.
  • Provide technical support for equipment and project quotes.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and procedures.
  • Oversee the skill development of the onsite support team.
  • Coordinate with third-party service and software providers.
  • Adhere to and participate in school review meetings, health & safety, and safeguarding policies.

Requirements/Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Network Manager, particularly in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems, Virtualisation, Networking, Office 365, Azure, Exchange Online, Active Directory, and other related technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Desirable: Experience with Mobile device deployment, Google Workspace, Educational software, and MIS/Parent Portals.
  • Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS checks and Safeguarding Training.
