IT Technician

We have an exciting opportunity available for an IT Technician position based in Fareham at a school within the education Managed Service Provider (MSP). The role offers a competitive salary of up to £30,000! If you're passionate about IT and possess the necessary qualifications and experience, this could be the ideal role for you.

Role Overview

As the IT Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting services to the school's IT infrastructure. Your duties will include managing servers, PCs, Macs, laptops, mobile devices, and printers. You will offer 1st and 2nd line support on-site, remotely, via email, and telephone.

Responsibilities:

• Providing technical solutions for hardware and software issues within the school.
• Diagnosing and resolving faults in PCs, printers, and peripheral devices.
• Assisting with routine safety checks, including electrical tests and maintaining records.
• Maintaining and updating hardware and software in the school's IT systems.
• Installing and maintaining hardware and software.
• Keeping the IT support database accurate and up to date.
• Providing remote support efficiently through telephone, video conferencing, and collaboration platforms.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a school or MSP environment.
• Relevant qualifications, such as Microsoft certifications.
• Clean driving license and access to own transport.
• An enhanced DBS check will be required.
• Strong knowledge of school IT systems.
• Highly organised and self-motivated.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Server, Active Directory, VLANS, Windows 10/11, and virtualisation software.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
