Role Overview
As our client's new IT Support Engineer, you will assume a pivotal role in delivering high-quality technical support. Your responsibilities will encompass providing 1st/2nd line support, swiftly resolving Windows desktop issues, and effectively managing Windows updates and AD policies. Additionally, you'll oversee client requests for MS O365 and Google Workspace, troubleshoot various IT issues, and ensure the seamless operation of hardware and software.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support via helpdesk and on-site visits to address client's IT issues promptly and effectively.
- Diagnose and resolve common Windows desktop issues, ensuring minimal downtime for users.
- Manage, monitor, and facilitate the successful deployment of Windows updates and Active Directory policies to maintain system security and functionality.
- Administer and manage client requests for Microsoft Office 365 and Google Workspace, ensuring smooth user experiences.
- Troubleshoot and resolve a variety of IT issues, including network connectivity, printer, and software problems, to maintain uninterrupted workflow.
- Set up and prepare equipment such as laptops, PCs, printers, and peripheral devices, ensuring they are ready for daily use and functioning correctly.
- Perform hardware and software maintenance tasks when necessary, including updates, upgrades, and system optimisations.
- Investigate Windows and software issues using diagnostic tools, Windows event viewer, and online resources to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Monitor, add, and update IT helpdesk tickets, ensuring that all reported issues are addressed in a timely manner.
- Document all ticket resolutions and follow up with all parties involved to ensure problems are resolved to their satisfaction, while also maintaining Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange accounts.
Requirements/Experience:
- Experience working in a similar role. (IT Support)
- Relevant IT qualification.
- Car and full clean UK driving licence required.
- Experience working within a school or education environment is highly desirable.
- Impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge and experience of Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP, Microsoft O365, Google Workspace and DNS.
- Expert in software installation.
