ICT Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ICT Technician to support a girls school in the Hertfordshire / Luton Area. This role offers up to £30,000 per annum for a candidate ready to take on the challenge of maintaining and enhancing IT systems to support staff and students.

Role Overview:

The ICT Technician will be responsible for a broad range of IT support tasks, including maintaining hardware and software, managing user policies, and ensuring that the IT infrastructure aligns with the school's strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of all IT hardware and software.
• Act as the first point of contact for IT support for staff and students, managing helpdesk tickets and resolving issues.
• Administer Google Workspace, ensuring efficient management of users and devices.
• Conduct server maintenance and support, managing configurations and updates.
• Ensure the reliability of IT hardware and software installations, as well as wireless network performance.
• Provide technical support for school events, examinations, and online testing.
• Manage data backups and network security measures, contributing to a secure IT environment.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Demonstrable experience with IT systems including Microsoft Windows, Mac OS, Linux OS, and server technologies.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace, Active Directory, Group Policies, and network software installations.
• Experience in an IT support role, with a track record of diagnosing and resolving technical issues.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with a diverse school community.
• An organised and detail-oriented approach, capable of meeting deadlines and multitasking.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team setting.
