Computing Teaching Assistant

Our client, a highly respected education IT support supplier, is looking for a teaching assistant interested in working with computing and IT curriculum within schools. This role will be based in schools around the north London area and offers an excellent salary of up £25,000! 

Role Overview

As the newest TA for Computing, you will collaborate with the Computing Lead to design and execute captivating Computing classes. In addition, you will deliver computing lessons when the teacher is unavailable. No prior Computing experience is necessary, as comprehensive training and support will be provided as long as you possess a genuine interest in Computing and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities:

• Offering support to individual students and small groups requiring extra help with Computing.
• Delivering engaging and effective Computing lessons and overseeing Robotics/Digital Leader clubs under the direction of the Computing teacher.
• Planning and implementing interventions for students struggling academically in Computing
• Keeping track of student progress and providing feedback to the Computing teacher.
• Assuming the role of lead instructor for Computing lessons/clubs in the teacher's absence.
• Overseeing and supporting other Computing TAs.
• Attending and participating in Computing department meetings
• Engaging in professional development opportunities in Computing
• Performing any other relevant Computing duties as needed
• Maintaining discipline and promoting positive behaviour and work standards following the school's procedures.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a school or educational organisation.
• Excellent verbal communication skills for motivating children to learn
• Sensitivity and understanding for building good relationships with children
• Experience in computing curriculum - highly desirable but not essential.
