Role Overview
You will support, monitor, maintain, and manage various technical systems associated with the school’s IT infrastructure. Working with a small team, the successful candidate will also be expected to assist with some 1st-line support as and when required.
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Director of IS to ensure IT systems and service delivery remains up-to-date and effective in supporting all aspects of school life, especially teaching and learning.
- Management of the day-to-day operations of the IT Service Desk and ensuring that all requests for IT support are allocated and addressed by following Service Desk procedures and priorities.
- Proactively monitoring and maintaining all key systems, including switches, cloud services, virtual and physical server environments, and backups.
- Creation and maintenance of documentation for all IT systems.
- Regular reporting to the Director of IS on systems performance, department activities and staffing and Service Desk trends.
- Second / Third line support, assurance and mentoring of other team members.
- Enforcing and monitoring adherence to school policies on data protection, IT resource management and internet acceptable use.
- Facilitating staff training in the use of general-purpose and office-related applications.
- Ensure availability and facilitate the school’s uses and requirements for IT resources.
- Stay informed about new and future IT developments.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Have at least two years of experience managing IT in a school environment.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Cloud technologies, Microsoft 365, Azure, InTune, Microsoft Server, Active Directory, Virtualisation technologies, VMWare, and Windows systems.
- The ability to manage internet security, profiles, and access plans.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot issues.
- Comfortable leading and working as part of a team.
- Work well under pressure.
