Description

This fantastic opportunity has just opened up to join a leading education institute as an IT Support Manager. This role is based in South East London and has an attractive salary of between £30,000 - £40,000 depending on how much experience you have!

 

Role Overview

You will be managing all on-site technicians and ensuring that all technical services are provided to the highest standard. In addition, the support manager role entails maintaining the smooth functioning of your school's IT infrastructure.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1st and 2nd line on-site technical support to a designated school.
  • Standardising school setup where possible - Veeam, SCCM, Aruba, Password Policies etc
  • Create and maintain documentation - SoW, Disaster Recovery plans etc
  • In consultation with the Service Manager (SM), provide technical assistance and information to facilitate the development of quotes for new equipment/projects
  • Creating procedures and user guides for technicians - Templates for frequent tasks, IP addressing, change control etc
  • Developing strategies and user guides for technicians
  • Ensuring all on-site technicians are trained in using the internal ticketing system and have access to internal resources required for their job.
  • Manage the implementation of new software and hardware entering the school.
  • Regular catch-ups with on-site technicians in 1-1 meetings to review any issues raised, their workload, ticket reviews, and provide support and advice.
  • Take part in school health and safety, safeguarding and security training.

 

Requirements:

  • Extensive school environment experience
  • Fluent in using Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office 365 knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Critical thinking.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
