We are looking for a Data Analyst to join an independent school in the Hammersmith area. Is this you? The salary for this role is up to £35,000, depending on your experience.

Role Overview

To lead the school in using data and providing data analytics to make informed decisions to raise standards across the school, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and management of Data, Assessments and Examinations. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assuring that database systems are adequately documented, including details of the underlying infrastructure and configuration settings, to be able to support them effectively. 
  • Maintain iSAMS and other management information system databases; provide patches, upgrades and configurations when necessary to ensure their integrity is maintained, as well as their security, high availability and fit for purpose.
  • Working with colleagues across the IT Department to ensure backups are taken and verified as valid, as well as robust and effective restoration procedures.
  • The creation and support of interfaces among MIS systems and with 3rd-party systems used by the school.
  • Publish termly student reports via iSAMS and then through MSP (My School Portal), as well as end-of-year and start-of-year tasks and rollovers for the system in line with school-based activities.
  • To develop, test, produce, and deploy SSRS reports based on iSAMS and other SQL databases and support the introduction of new reporting systems as needed.
  • Assist staff members with using all aspects of iSAMS by conducting INSED day training and twilight sessions for subsets of staff and creating user guides specifically for attendance and report writing. 
  • If necessary, support restoring essential systems (for example, in the Data Centres) from a major incident.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Working in a previous Data Analyst position within a school or education setting. 
  • Strong experience using ISAMs and other MIS systems. 
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • The candidate should possess a degree or an equivalent recognised qualification in Computer Studies, Electronics, Information Technology or a related subject, such as recent SQL certification.
