Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Management: Configure, monitor, and maintain network infrastructure for reliable connectivity.
  • Server Administration: Install, configure, and optimise server performance.
  • Storage Management: Ensure data availability and efficient utilisation of storage resources.
  • Data Backup and Recovery: Implement robust processes to safeguard data.
  • Security: Deploy measures to protect the infrastructure, including firewalls and security patches.
  • Hardware Maintenance: Oversee maintenance and replacement of hardware components.
  • Cloud Services Management: Manage secure and efficient cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaboration Tools: Support and maintain communication systems.
  • Monitoring and Performance: Track system performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Infrastructure Documentation: Maintain comprehensive IT infrastructure documentation.
  • Disaster Recovery/Service Continuity: Develop plans to minimise downtime during system failures.
  • Compliance: Ensure alignment with policies, safeguarding regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Capacity Planning: Anticipate future infrastructure needs for growth.
  • Data Security: Ensure compliance with data security standards and GDPR.
  • Team Management: Manage and support the Network Engineer, fostering their development.
  • Delegation: Act as the Head of IT in their absence.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency with Windows OS, Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, and security technologies like EDR and firewalls.
  • Educational Experience: Prior experience in an educational setting is advantageous.
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Google Classroom, GAM, and PowerShell.
  • Structured Environment Experience: Experience in IT support/helpdesk environments.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Certifications: ITIL Foundation, Azure Fundamentals, CCNA or similar, Microsoft MSCA, Google Administrator.
  • Additional Experience: Knowledge of domain migration to Azure, SIMS MIS System, MDR, and SIEM management.

  • Project Management: Experience managing and delivering IT projects.
  • Risk Management: Ability to identify and manage IT infrastructure risks.
