As our client's new internal Account Manager will be tasked with proactively identifying and capitalising on new business prospects while effectively managing both existing and potential key accounts. Collaborating closely with a Business Development Manager, your core responsibilities will revolve around strengthening relationships with your customer base, prospective clients, and internal teams.
- Proactively engage in outbound telephone activities to acquire new business and manage existing relationships, offering a comprehensive range of hardware, software, services, and solutions.
- Deliver efficient and professional account management and customer service to a diverse portfolio of customers across multiple vertical markets.
- Handle customer service incidents promptly, adhering to agreed service level agreement (SLA) timelines, and escalating issues when necessary.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of significant ongoing opportunities, providing accurate revenue and margin forecasts on a weekly basis to Sales Management.
- Support junior Sales team members by addressing queries and assisting in issue resolution.
- Adhere to established processes and procedures at all times.
- Ensure compliance with defined security policies regarding internal system access.
- Occasionally visit customer sites for client meetings and attend external shows and exhibitions to generate leads and foster relationships.
- Undertake additional outbound telemarketing activities as needed, irrespective of vertical market or product type.
- Assist the Sales Manager by fulfilling reasonable requests for additional duties when required.
- Offer recommendations to customers regarding optimal solutions.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working in a similar sales-based role in the education sector.
- Knowledge of the education technology industry.
- Proven track record of hitting and exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
- A solid understanding and competency with sales tracking tools.
- Strong background in handling key accounts.
- Highly motivated and organised.
- Highly ambitious.
