Description
We are searching for a skilled IT Technician to join a school in the Harrow Area. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering the schools' IT systems and in implementing their IT strategies and visions. This is a contract role that will be required for the summer holidays and will have the possibility of moving to a permanent placement if all goes well!

Role Overview
You will have the responsibility of assisting in the management of the school's ICT support services, implementing procedures, and delivering technical support that meets the school's ICT Service Level Agreement. Your role will involve maintaining and developing the school's ICT resources for safe and effective use by students and staff. You will also provide support and guidance to users on the appropriate utilisation of ICT, enforce security measures, and maintain accurate records of hardware, software, and support requests.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure smooth operation and maintenance of the school network on a daily basis.
- Support e-safety initiatives and promote the protection of students when utilising ICT equipment.
- Implement effective procedures and provide technical support in accordance with the school's defined ICT support services.
- Maintain accurate records of hardware and software, ensuring efficient inventory management.
- Investigate and address reported faults and support requests promptly and effectively.
- Provide comprehensive maintenance and support for Windows laptops and Chromebook devices.
- Offer guidance and expertise to teachers, empowering them to make optimal use of ICT.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic issues related to operating systems, networks, software, hardware, and printers across the school.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements by managing hardware inventory, incorporating new and updated equipment.
- Manage app installations and updates for school iPads through the mobile device management system (Meraki).
- Oversee the administration of the school domain, including updating student user accounts, creating new accounts as needed, and removing staff and students following the school's username policy.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of ICT software and licences used within the school.
Requirements:
- Education sector Experience.
- Experience as 1st/2nd level IT Technician/Engineer.
- Networking knowledge - TCP/IP, DNS, VLAN, VPN, SSL & IPSec.
- Experience in managing Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Azure, Active Directory.
- Windows server infrastructure and network services knowledge.
